MEET TANHATHAI
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember.

As a child, a pencil was never far from my hands. As an adult, the path became less straightforward. I studied architecture, taught art, worked a variety of jobs, and today I also share my work as an astrologer through Tan Astrology youtube, where a community of over 50,000 people follow my explorations of symbolism, mythology, and the unseen.

Art, however, has always found its way back to me.
Over the years I explored many mediums. Oil painting, alcohol markers, pastel portraiture, botanical studies. Each taught me something, but none felt entirely like home. Finding my artistic voice has been a slow unfolding, one that truly began around 2022.

The work you see here is where everything finally came together.
​
I live on the edge of a forest in the Netherlands, surrounded by wild plants that many people overlook or fear. Poisonous flowers, tangled roots, forgotten folklore, and the quiet beauty of things growing in the shadows have become my greatest inspiration. My garden is filled with black nightshades, foxgloves, datura, and other plants whose histories blur the line between medicine, myth, and magic.

My spiritual practice has shaped this work just as deeply. After losing my father, my relationship with death, ancestry, and the unseen changed profoundly. Working with spirits became less an abstract belief and more a way of remaining in conversation with what love leaves behind. That experience quietly found its way into my drawings.

Each piece explores the moment of transformation, where the boundaries between science and folklore, beauty and decay, and the human and the wild begin to dissolve.
​
These illustrations are portraits of the invisible world that has always existed alongside our own.
​
House of the Wild Witch is a collection of those encounters. A growing herbarium of poisonous plants, forgotten spirits, folklore, and feminine transformation, drawn by hand in graphite.
