A museum-quality print of my original graphite drawing, Bella-Lia, Observed on the Twenty-Third Day.
Though delicate in appearance, Lily of the Valley has long carried a dual nature throughout folklore. Its small, bell-shaped flowers were associated with purity, protection, and the return of spring, yet every part of the plant is highly poisonous. In old European traditions, it was believed to ward away malevolent spirits, while its tiny white bells were said to ring softly for the hidden folk as they passed unseen through the forest.
This piece imagines the Lily of the Valley Kin as a quiet guardian of White Hollow, where innocence and hidden danger exist side by side.
